Basketball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Upton's Fifth in Last Six Outings

Upton won the last time they faced Niobrara County and things went their way on Thursday too. The Upton Bobcats walked away with a 47-36 victory over the Niobrara County Tigers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bobcats.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Marleigh Smith, who posted seven points and three steals. Smith is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Zumbrunnen, who earned two points along with eight rebounds and six steals.

Upton has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Niobrara County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-4.

Upton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-15 win against Midwest on the 31st. Niobrara County has also already played their next game, a 46-12 victory against Rock River on the 1st.
