Bishop McDevitt is 2-8 against Lower Dauphin since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Crusaders will welcome the Falcons at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Bishop McDevitt came out on top against Palmyra on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Crusaders walked away with an 8-5 win over the Cougars.
Janna Thomas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Fran Safford, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Roadcap, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
The home team had won the previous five meetings between Lower Dauphin and Hershey, and Lower Dauphin kept the tradition alive. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Trojans on Tuesday. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.
Sadie Borrelli made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Audrey Ritter was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Jordan Frye was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Lower Dauphin hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hershey struck out eight times.
Lower Dauphin has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Bishop McDevitt, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.
