Football Recap: Jesuit Piles Up the Points Against Rio Americano

Jesuit got themselves on the board against Rio Americano on Friday, but Rio Americano never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Raiders 35-0. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Marauders considering their 13-point performance the matchup before.

Jesuit can attribute much of their success to Teddy Rios, who threw for 166 yards and two TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. Stevie Hughes was Rios' top target, picking up 77 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Jesuit's run defense was locked in: Rio Americano could only muster 2.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Brayden Quinn for the heroic effort on defense: he. Jesuit didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.6.

Jesuit didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Colton Dewar and Quinn. Quinn got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The victory got Jesuit back to even at 1-1. As for Rio Americano, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
