Providence Day's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ellie Fyans, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Ramsden, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Menendez lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jakayla Newsome. Despite the final result, she scored 7 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Sarah Scibelli, who scored 9 points.
Providence Day now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Menendez, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Providence Day will head out on the road to face off against Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Menendez, they will take on Spanish River at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
