The Central School Pioneers were the 30-26 winner over the Union Christian Academy Lions when they last played one another on January 5th, but their luck changed this time around. Central School lost to the Lions on the road by a decisive 37-18 margin on Friday. Central School just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Several Pioneers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Amanda Seekford, who scored nine points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Lola Doyal, who scored six points along with two steals.
Central School's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-16. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.0 points per game. As for Union Christian Academy, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-7.
Central School will take on the Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northeast Baptist comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last 11 games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Union Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge the Rebels at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
