The Palm Beach Gardens Gators are taking a road trip to square off against the Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Oxbridge Academy took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Palm Beach Gardens, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with 11 defeats in a row, Palm Beach Gardens turned things around against Jupiter Christian on Friday. They skirted past the Eagles 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Gators have posted since April 11, 2025.
Alex Lorenjatos and Tony Bieber made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Lorenjatos tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Bieber struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Lorenjatos has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Lorenjatos went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Bieber went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Palm Beach Gardens is undefeated when Bieber posts two or more runs, but 0-12 otherwise.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Marcus Nixon, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Alexander Romaine also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.
Palm Beach Gardens was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive contests.
Glades Day hit Oxbridge Academy with a five-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The ThunderWolves came up short against the Gators, falling 12-5.
Carlo Vazquez made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Jordan Raphael was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Palm Beach Gardens' record is now 3-12. As for Oxbridge Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
Palm Beach Gardens came out on top in a nail-biter against Oxbridge Academy when the teams last played back in March of 2025, sneaking past 7-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gators since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
