While the Braden River Pirates couldn't quite beat the Manatee Hurricanes on Tuesday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 20-point loss they were dealt last Monday. Braden River fell just short of Manatee by a score of 43-40. Braden River has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Pirates players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alexa Helton, who scored 11 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Helton has scored all season. Jada Banks was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 13 rebounds.
Braden River has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Manatee, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Braden River and Families Instructing Students HomeSchool will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Families Instructing Students HomeSchool is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Manatee, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hardee at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hardee is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
