The Watertown Cyclones couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a rough 69-29 loss at the hands of Indian River. Watertown was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-16.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Indian River to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ravan Marsell, who scored 14 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Bella Davis, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Watertown's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Indian River, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Watertown will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lowville at 7:15 p.m. on December 18th. As for Indian River, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against South Jefferson at 7:15 p.m. South Jefferson and Indian River are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
