The Academy of Science and Innovation Ravens entered their tilt with the Capital Prep Trailblazers with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Academy of Science and Innovation blew past Capital Prep 81-47 at home. Academy of Science and Innovation has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 25 points or more this season.
Jamal Kulaib was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with seven steals and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Mohammad Kulaib, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Capital Prep still got an impressive performance from Amare Cockfield, who scored 18 points along with four steals. That was a full 38.3% of Capital Prep's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Malique Marshall was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 15 rebounds.
Academy of Science and Innovation pushed their record up to 11-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37.67 points. As for Capital Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.
Academy of Science and Innovation will be playing at home against Achievement First at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Achievement First will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 176th, while Academy of Science and Innovation is ranked 23rd). As for Capital Prep, they will head out on the road to challenge Academy of Aerospace and Engineering at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Academy of Aerospace and Engineering has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 170 points over their last three contests.
