Cohasset and Southeastern RVT go head to head on Friday at 7:00 PM in their first playoff game of the year. Southeastern RVT have seen their point totals decreasing over the past three games, a vulnerability Cohasset are surely hoping to exploit.
If Cohasset were riding high off their 42-20 takedown of Bishop Stang two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Last Friday, Cohasset came up short against Abington, falling 14-26. Cohasset's loss came about despite a quality game from junior Gray Thomas, who rushed for 81 yards and 2 touchdowns. In fact, with ten tackles Thomas was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, Southeastern RVT entered their match against Nantucket without any home losses -- but there's a first time for everything. Southeastern RVT ended up on the wrong side of a painful 6-33 walloping at Nantucket's hands. The state rankings had actually given Southeastern RVT a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.
With the two teams each stumbling in off of a defeat, both will be hungry for the win. We'll see which team satisfies their hunger and which team leaves with an empty stomach.
