Megan Brockmann made a big impact no matter where she played. In other batting news, West Boca Raton let Mikaela Santiago and Teagan O'Neill run wild. Santiago got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, while O'Neill got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs O'Neill has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Nohelia Cruz-Cowan, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Meanwhile, South Plantation had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They blew past the Cowboys 16-6. The Paladins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by seven runs or more this season.
Grace Boehly and Samantha O'Steen did most of the damage at the plate: Boehly fired off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while going 4-for-5, while O'Steen fired off two home runs and seven RBI while going 3-for-5. Amelia Rodriguez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
South Plantation was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .417 or higher in three consecutive contests.
South Plantation's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-11. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for West Boca Raton, their record is now 6-14.
West Boca Raton suffered a grim 13-7 defeat to South Plantation in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Bulls avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
