Lakota Tech is 3-0 against the Rangers since January of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Lakota Tech Tatanka will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hill City Rangers at 6:30 p.m. One thing working in Lakota Tech's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matches.
On Thursday, Lakota Tech made easy work of the Falcons and carried off a 74-51 win. Lakota Tech pushed the score to 63-36 by the end of the third, a deficit the Falcons cut but never quite recovered from.
Lakota Tech found their leader in underclassman Riley Casey, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Gilbert White Jr., who scored 11 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hill City pushed their score all the way to 66 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Wolsey-Wessington by a score of 68-66.
Lakota Tech's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-6. As for Hill City, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season.
Lakota Tech beat the Rangers 73-61 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Will Lakota Tech repeat their success, or do the Rangers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
