Memorial waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They claimed a resounding 97-26 win over the McKinley Trojans. The Red Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 20 points or more this season.
Leading Memorial to victory were Josue Rodriguez and Jared Colon. Rodriguez went 13-for-23 on his way to 28 points and four steals, while Colon went 6-for-9 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points in addition to five assists and five steals. Colon continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Teyon Harris Jr., who went 5-for-9 to rack up 10 points and three steals.
Memorial smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive games.
Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 18-4. As for McKinley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-19.
Looking ahead, Memorial will be taking part in a tournament against Southern at 7:00 p.m. on February 21st. McKinley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
