West Elk (Howard, Kan.) beat Central (Burden, Kan.) 50-0 after a strong game from
Armando Gomez, who rushed for four touchdowns. Thanks to the stand out performance the sophomore now has 16 touchdowns on the season.
The lead that the Patriots took on an Gomez touchdown run with 10:00 left in the first quarter stood up for the duration of the game, as neither team managed to score in the second half.
A big 28-point first quarter helped West Elk secure the win. WE scored on four rushing touchdowns in the quarter, including three by Gomez.
The Howard school had given up an average of 14.0 points prior to the contest.
The loss comes after Central defeated Cedar Vale/Dexter 64-14 last week.
Central (2-4) goes up against Oxford in a South Central Border (8 Man) game matchup next week, while West Elk (6-0) locks horns with Cedar Vale/Dexter also in a South Central Border (8 Man) game.
