Valor Christian is a perfect 9-0 against Columbine since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Rebels at 11:00 a.m. Valor Christian has given up an average of 7.6 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Valor Christian is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Chatfield just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against the Chargers, falling 12-2. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.
Valor Christian got a good showing from Rex Johnson, who struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits.
At the plate, Carter Lowery was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, Columbine lost 8-1 to Poudre on Monday.
Columbine saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dexter Fischer, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. Valor Christian hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Columbine struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Valor Christian's way against Columbine when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Valor Christian made off with a 15-4 win. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rebels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
