The Jamestown Eagles will take on the Hampton Crabbers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Jamestown barely beat Bruton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles never let the Panthers get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Friday. The Eagles not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 16, 2025 (when they won 9-0).
Samuel Dilday made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Dilday was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.
In other pitching news, Zane McSmith looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Owen Williams, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Aidan Walker, who went 3-for-4 with one double.
Jamestown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bruton only posted a batting average of .045.
Meanwhile, Hampton entered their tilt with Woodside on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Wolverines 12-2. The Crabbers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Hampton's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Jamestown, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
