Chiles is on a six-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while St. John Paul II is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The two teams, after both having extra time off, will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Chiles has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Last Thursday, it was close, but Chiles sidestepped Lincoln for a 5-4 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Timberwolves have posted against the Trojans since April 26, 2023.

Anna Kate Barber spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Benny Powell, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Githens, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.
Chiles hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, St. John Paul II got themselves on the board against Rickards last Friday, but Rickards never followed suit. They blew past the Raiders 15-0. Considering the Panthers have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
AMANDA THOMPSON made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over four innings pitched. THOMPSON was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
In other batting news, SANAA ROBERTS and SHAVON STEWART did most of the damage at the plate: ROBERTS went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while STEWART went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those four RBI gave STEWART a new career-high. LANELL LOUIS was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Chiles' win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for St. John Paul II, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Chiles has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like St. John Paul II struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 11.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Chiles' way against St. John Paul II when the teams last played back in February, as Chiles made off with a 12-0 win. Do the Timberwolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
