Jaxson Payne made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Lanesville's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-11 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Nolyn Hall was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Wiseman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Lanesville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rock Creek Academy only managed five hits.
Lanesville's win bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Rock Creek Academy, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
As of now, neither Lanesville nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
