Lansing is 2-8 against Piper since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lansing Lions will be home for the holidays to greet the Piper Pirates. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Tuesday, Lansing was the victim of a tough 54-34 loss at the hands of West.
Meanwhile, Piper suffered a tough 69-45 loss at the hands of Seaman on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Piper in their matchups with Seaman: they've now lost four in a row.
Lansing's defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-2. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.3 points per game. As for Piper, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Things could have been worse for Lansing, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 49-33 loss to Piper when the teams last played back in February. Can Lansing avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
