The Brandon Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They fell just short of Chamberlain by a score of 26-23. Brandon lost against Chamberlain in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 49-23 score last time.
Despite the defeat, Brandon saw an underclassman step up: Sofia Caserta scored 15 points. The match was Caserta's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Julia Castany was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Leading Chamberlain to victory were Alyssa Dejesus and K'mari Johnson. Dejesus scored nine points, while Johnson scored 12 points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her.
Brandon bumped their record down to 1-7 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Chamberlain, their win bumped their record up to an identical 1-7.
Brandon and Plant City will face off at 8:00 p.m. on December 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Plant City comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last eight games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Chamberlain, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Armwood at 8:00 p.m. on December 15th. Armwood presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Chamberlain in Florida (Armwood is ranked 196th, while Chamberlain is ranked 576th).
