WestSide is 10-0 against Independence since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The WestSide Renegades will head out on the road to face off against the Independence Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a seven-game winning streak alive.
WestSide scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They really took it to River View for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-37 win on the road. WestSide has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 23 points or more this season.
Meanwhile, Independence didn't have too much trouble with Sherman on the road on Wednesday as they won 47-28. 47 seems to be a good number for Independence as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Independence to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lacey Goodson, who scored 16 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Goodson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 14 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Harmony Mills, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
WestSide's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Independence, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season.
WestSide came out on top in a nail-biter against Independence in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 44-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for WestSide since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
