On Wednesday, Bartow came up short against Northwestern and fell 39-32. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bartow has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Bartow had strong showings from Edward Wiggins, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and three blocks, and Daniel Thompson, who scored five points. Thompson set a new season high mark in steals with two.
Northwestern found their leader in underclassman Calvin Russel, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. The game was Russel's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Giovanny Desire, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Bartow and nudges their season record down to 6-5. As for Northwestern, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
Bartow will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Braddock at 12:00 p.m. on December 28th. One thing working in Braddock's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Northwestern won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Woodward at 6:00 p.m. on December 28th. Woodward will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
