The Clear Lake Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Santa Fe Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Clear Lake focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday.
Clear Lake's seven-game losing streak came to an end. They walked away with a 40-31 win over South Houston.
Jazmine Klausmeier was the offensive standout of the matchup as she dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Clear Lake's points. Another player making a difference was Carmen Evans, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 steals.
Santa Fe has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season. They took their contest on the road on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 77-40 win over Texas City. Winning may never get old, but Santa Fe sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Hannah Doerre continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 37 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now stole two or more in the last 12 games she's played. Hayven Martinez was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 9 assists and 4 steals.
The losses dropped Clear Lake to 6-11 and South Houston to 4-10.
Clear Lake didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Santa Fe in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 59-53 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clear Lake since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
