The Front Range Baptist Falcons struggled with assists on Thursday (the Flatirons Academy Bison had 23 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Front Range Baptist took a serious blow against Flatirons Academy, falling 93-15. Front Range Baptist has not had much luck with Flatirons Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Front Range Baptist got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Katie Jaques and
Abbie VanDenBerghe, who each put up four points.
Hadyn Woods took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
It was another big night for Emma Cox, who scored 36 points along with nine steals and five assists for Flatirons Academy. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cox has scored all season. Annabelle Rakers was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with eight assists and six steals.
Front Range Baptist's loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.4 points per game. As for Flatirons Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Front Range Baptist won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Victory Prep Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 12th. Flatirons Academy will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Evangel Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 13th. Evangel Christian Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
