Moline is 2-8 against Sterling since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Maroons will head out to challenge the Golden Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Moline will be strutting in after a victory while Sterling will be coming in after a defeat.
On Friday, Moline got the win against Normal West by a conclusive 9-3. Considering the Maroons have won six games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kayley Reynolds spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Emersyn Rasso, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. Gianna DeLeon was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI.
Moline was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .314 or higher in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Sterling came up short against Rockridge on Wednesday and fell 9-4.
Lily Cantu was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Marley Sechrest, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Moline's record is now 6-10. As for Sterling, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Moline hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. However, it's not like Sterling struggles in that department as they've averaged .323. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Moline couldn't quite finish off Sterling when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 8-6. Can the Maroons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
