Academy for Academic Excellence's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 16-2 margin over Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy. The Knights have beaten Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy has come to flipping the script.

Haylee Berg made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kayla Berg, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Victoria McGowan, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Academy for Academic Excellence was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy only posted a batting average of .000.

Academy for Academic Excellence's record is now 9-11-1. As for Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy, their loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-12.
