The Mart Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 51-43 to Dawson. Mart has not had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dawson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elijah Allen, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Allen has scored at least a third of Dawson's points. Hastin Easley was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Mart's loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Dawson, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
Mart will head out on the road to square off against the Longhorns at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dawson, they will be playing at home against the Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Riesel has struggled recently with seven defeats in a row, while the Bulldogs will arrive with three straight wins.
