Mateo Pope was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Pope wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Braxton Kelley, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Harris was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Noah Lile, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with six stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those six stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
Rocky Mountain Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Flatirons Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5.
Rocky Mountain Lutheran's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Flatirons Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .418.
