Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Heritage). They claimed a resounding 82-52 win over the Hylton Bulldogs. Given the Pioneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 339th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Heritage's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-4. As for Hylton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage won't have much time to rest: their next match is against James Monroe on Saturday. As for Hylton, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Woodbridge at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
