If the Dixie County Bears were feeling good off their 56-23 takedown of the Bell Bulldogs on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Dixie County fell 65-58 to Crystal River on Monday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (56), Dixie County still had to take the loss.
Crystal River's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ej Jenkins, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Riley Helmdach, who scored 14 points along with five blocks.
Dixie County now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Crystal River, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
Dixie County will head out on the road to face off against Union County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Union County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Saturday. Crystal River will be home for the holidays to greet Springstead at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Springstead is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
