White Pine hasn't had much luck against Needles recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bobcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 11:00 a.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
White Pine's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 19-0 margin over GV Christian. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Laila Trujillo made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Trujillo was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, White Pine got a massive performance out of Reese Maestes, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. That's the most runs Maestes has posted since back in February. Camden Johnson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Needles). They blew past Lake Mead Christian Academy 15-0 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Needles let Scotti Powell and Edey Ponce run wild. Powell got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double, while Ponce got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Powell is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Jackson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Needles has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for White Pine, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.
Needles' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: White Pine has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .474. It's a different story for Needles, though, as they've only averaged .353. Will they be able to contain White Pine's hitters?
