The South Lyon East Cougars will take on the Plymouth Christian Academy Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
South Lyon East fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Northville on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 4-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost four in a row.
Chloe McPherson (2027) was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. Meanwhile, it was close, but on Saturday Plymouth Christian Academy sidestepped Clawson for a 6-5 win.
Like South Lyon East, Plymouth Christian Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Sophie Paryaski. Throwing, Paryaski kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Clara Groen struck out ten batters over four innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). At bat, Paryaski went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double, while Groen went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits Paryaski has posted since back in May of 2024.
