Goretti is 9-1 against Calvert Hall since November of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Goretti Gael will be playing at home against the Calvert Hall Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Goretti's 26-8 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell just short of Mt. Zion Prep Academy by a score of 54-51.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Calvert Hall, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 63-47 loss to Severn School on Tuesday.
Brendan Johnson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. He scored a full 42.6% of Calvert Hall's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Maclaren Latoga was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Their wins bumped Goretti to 1-2 and Mt. Zion Prep Academy to 4-0.
Goretti skirted past Calvert Hall 55-52 in their previous matchup back in February. Will Goretti repeat their success, or does Calvert Hall have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
