 Meanwhile, Dougherty can finally bid farewell to their 19-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game  on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by  a  31-4 margin over Monroe. With that  victory, the Trojans brought their scoring average up to 6.2  runs per game.
  Jalexi Thomas made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  pitched three innings while giving up  three earned  (and one unearned) runs but no hits. Thomas was also big at the plate,  scoring three  runs while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Deriyah Gibbs, who  went 3-for-4 with a  home run, five  stolen bases, and four  runs. The dominant performance gave  her a new career-high in  hits.  Makayla Demps was another key player,  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances with six  RBI, three  runs, and a  double.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Dougherty  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .795. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
 Westover's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Dougherty, their win  ended  a  nine-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 1-15.
 Westover might still be hurting after the  17-2 loss they got from Dougherty  when the teams last played  back in September of 2023. Can Westover avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
