The Basic Wolves will head out on the road to square off against the Centennial Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Basic is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
Basic is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Liberty, who was ranked 11th at the time (Basic was ranked second). The Wolves put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 8-2 win on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Basic got a great performance from Johnny Villarreal as he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts Villarreal has posted since back in February.
On the hitting side, Ace Sapp was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Gabe Giron also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Centennial ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Shadow Ridge, sneaking past 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since March 14th.
Andres Soto tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jake Turner, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Aiden Keehan, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Basic's record now sits at 13-7. As for Centennial, their record is now 19-9.
Basic came out on top in a nail-biter against Centennial in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, sneaking past 8-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
