Carolina Forest got a massive performance out of Natalie Nesheiwat, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those three runs gave Nesheiwat a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylee Warehime, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Carolina Forest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .588. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Conway posted their closest win since March 18th on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Socastee 6-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.
Benton Causey made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off nine hits (and only one walk). Causey was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and three runs while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Meredith Thompson was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. Addison Fogle also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Carolina Forest's record now sits at 13-8-1. As for Conway, their record is now 11-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Carolina Forest has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Conway struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Carolina Forest came out on top in a nail-biter against Conway in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 6-5. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
