After flying high against the Wickenburg Wranglers last Thursday, the Fountain Hills Falcons came back down to earth. Fountain Hills fell 65-56 to Phoenix Christian on Monday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Fountain Hills' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sam Barnard, who scored 15 points along with six assists and four steals, and Keaton Ort who scored 22 points. Ort has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Lucas Grieco, who scored five points.
Fountain Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Phoenix Christian, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 14-2.
Fountain Hills will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Northwest Christian at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Northwest Christian is ranked 86th, while Fountain Hills is ranked 104th). As for Phoenix Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Mountainside at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Mountainside: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Phoenix Christian has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
