Oconee County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Darius Darden led the charge by rushing for 87 yards and a pair of scores. West Laurens' win came from a few key players Oconee County will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Branden Brooks, who rushed for 118 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Cason Pollack, who threw for 124 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten passes.
Oconee County's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for West Laurens, their win bumped their record up to 11-0.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Oconee County has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 184.7 rushing yards per game.
