The Miramonte Matadors are taking a road trip to square off against the Berean Christian Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Miramonte's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Campolindo with a sharp 16-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Matadors as they're now sitting on three straight.
Abby Warren was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Miramonte got a massive performance out of Maddie McKim, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four runs gave McKim a new career-high. Avery Haynes also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Miramonte was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Berean Christian entered their tilt with Mt. Diablo on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 19-5 margin over the Red Devils. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
The team relied heavily on Olivia Kundysek, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Another player making a difference was Alissa Jones, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and two doubles.
Miramonte's record now sits at 10-5. As for Berean Christian, their record is now 9-2.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Miramonte hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .349. However, it's not like Berean Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .340. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Miramonte might still be hurting after the 16-6 defeat they got from Berean Christian in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Matadors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
