Johnson Came Up Big in Pender's 68-30 Victory
Starting off the list is Pender's Jeremiah Johnson, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Johnson rushed for 218 yards and seven touchdowns. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his seventh straight game with at least 121 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Johnson must have Hobbton's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. When Johnson last faced the Wildcats back in October of 2023, he rushed for 377 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry.

Rush Blackwell and Co. Win Fifth in a Row
Rush Blackwell was instrumental in extending South Columbus's winning streak to five on Friday. Blackwell did his part (and then some), rushing for 84 yards and three touchdowns for the 'W'. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.
South Columbus pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Blackwell and South Columbus will challenge Heide Trask at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Briar Johnson's big game helped extend South Columbus's winning streak to five on Friday. Nobody could stop Johnson as he rushed for 48 yards and two touchdowns.
For the year, Johnson has run in 13 touchdowns while averaging 77.2 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 3.38 rushing yards per game.
