After a string of three wins, the Bleckley County Royals's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to Telfair County 59-53. Bleckley County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Telfair County apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Leading Telfair County to victory were Passion Clay and Zah'Mya McDuffie. Clay scored 23 points along with five steals, while McDuffie scored 22 points along with six rebounds and six steals. McDuffie is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Ty'Teionna Jones was another key contributor, scoring two points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Bleckley County's loss dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Telfair County, their win bumped their record up to 8-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bleckley County will face off against Swainsboro at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Telfair County, they will head out on the road to face off against Dooly County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Telfair County is facing Dooly County at the right time seeing as Dooly County is stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
