It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Northside L Lions ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They rang in the new year with a 73-66 victory over HomeSchool Resource Center. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Northside L considering their two-point performance the contest before.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northside L to victory, but perhaps none more so than CAM BRUNK, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of LANDON KARNES, who scored 16 points.
HomeSchool Resource Center's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mason O'Neal, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. The game was O'Neal's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Fredrick Jefferson, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, HomeSchool Resource Center were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northside L only racked up 21 assists.
The victory makes it two in a row for Northside L and bumps their season record up to 17-4. As for HomeSchool Resource Center, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-12.
Northside L will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. HomeSchool Resource Center's road trip will continue as they head out to face Cincinnati Trailblazers HomeSchool at 12:00 p.m. on January 6th. Hopefully Cincinnati Trailblazers HomeSchool focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Saturday.
