The La Salle College Explorers will venture away from home to challenge the Holy Ghost Prep Firebirds at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. La Salle College is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
La Salle College is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Lansdale Catholic on Wednesday as they made off with a 15-0 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Declan Cawley looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Caden Schmidt was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Matt Wambold also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
La Salle College always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Holy Ghost Prep beat St. Augustine Prep 4-1 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Firebirds.
Holy Ghost Prep also got a great performance from Nick Armitage as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tyler Bergkoetter, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was K.J. Freiband, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
The win got Holy Ghost Prep back to even at 4-4. As for La Salle College, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Holy Ghost Prep's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: La Salle College has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .440. It's a different story for Holy Ghost Prep, though, as they've only averaged .361. Will they be able to contain La Salle College's hitters?
La Salle College took their win against Holy Ghost Prep in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-6 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Explorers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
