Great Mills is 10-0 against Northern since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Thursday. The Great Mills Hornets will head out on the road to  square off against  the Northern Patriots at 6:00  p.m. Great Mills is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
 Last Monday, Great Mills strolled past Oakland Mills with  points to spare, taking the game  60-44. Given Great Mills' advantage  in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings  (they are ranked 54th, while Oakland Mills is ranked 254th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
  DeAndre Dorsey was  his usual excellent self,  scoring 21 points along with seven  assists and two  steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Cameron Brooks, who  scored six points along with 15  rebounds and eight  blocks.
 Meanwhile, Northern had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy  67-51 win over Calvert.
  Emmanuel Powell continued  his habit of posting crazy stat lines,  scoring 25 points along with four  steals. He is on a roll when it comes to  steals, as he's  now  grabbed two or more in the last three games he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Zach Miskell, who  scored ten points along with two  steals.
 Great Mills' victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Northern, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
 Great Mills was able to grind out a solid  victory over Northern in their previous matchup  back in February of 2023, winning  55-47. Does  Great Mills have another victory up their sleeve, or will Northern turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
