Escalon moved up to 258 from 288 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Trans Valley. A 56-28 win over Orestimba helped the Cougars improve their standing.
Ripon extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Hughson, 35-27. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Indians.
Tanner Pruett and Steven Machado gave the Warriors a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Pruett threw for 102 yards and two touchdowns, while Machado ran for 330 yards.
Bradley Clark was the best wideout in the league this week as Ripon defeated the Huskies. Clark racked up six receptions for 131 yards. Cole Herrin helped Ripon's passing attack out by catching two balls for 34 yards.
Chris Johnson's team's Kyle Wengel and Clark have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Trans Valley in both passing and receiving yards. Wengel has thrown for 1073 yards this season, while Clark, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 24 catches for 457 yards. Orestimba's Machado leads the league in rushing yards with 1623.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Ripon takes on second place Hilmar. Last week, the Indians bested Hughson, while Hilmar defeated Riverbank.
George Harp's team's Tanner Duron needs only 84 yards against Aaron Souza's team next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 87 carries Duron has accumulated 916 yard this year.
Escalon led the league in scoring this week after putting up 56 points on the Warriors. Nathan Chunn ran for 211 yards and caught two passes for 18 yards in the win.
