The matchup between Gainesville and Osbourn on Friday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. Gainesville put the hurt on Osbourn with a sharp 16-4 win. This was payback for the Cardinals, who suffered a 2-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Gainesville let Marley Williams and Cameryn Denhup run wild. Williams went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Denhup scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Goble, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Gainesville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Osbourn only posted a batting average of .318.

Gainesville has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 14.5 runs this season. As for Osbourn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
