Eastern Greene's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the North Daviess Cougars. This was payback for the Thunderbirds, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

While Eastern Greene might've won, it sure wasn't easy: North Daviess scored at least 21 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 18-25, 27-25, 25-22.

Reagan Kieft paced Eastern Greene's offense, picking up 14 kills. Kieft got some help from Ashlynn Bellman and her 33 assists.

Despite the defeat, North Daviess saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jessie Yoder had nine digs and four aces. Those four aces set a new season-high mark for Yoder.

The victory snapped Eastern Greene's losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 8-14 record. As for North Daviess, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.

Eastern Greene has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Mooresville on the 4th. As for North Daviess, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Pleasant View Christian on the 4th.
