Bradley Central is 1-8 against Chattanooga Christian since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Bears will square off against the Chargers at 6:00 p.m. Bradley Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Bradley Central didn't have quite enough to beat McMinn County and fell 5-4.
Karly Farkas was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lynlee Hodge, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Chattanooga Christian entered their tilt with Knoxville Catholic on Wednesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the Fighting Irish.
The team relied heavily on Millie Fox, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple. Neely Fillman also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Chattanooga Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Knoxville Catholic only posted an OBP of .321.
Chattanooga Christian pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Bradley Central, they now have a losing record of 9-10-1.
Both Bradley Central and Chattanooga Christian just can't seem to miss. The Bears have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Chattanooga Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bradley Central came up short against Chattanooga Christian in their previous matchup back in March, falling 11-6. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
