Archer is 1-8 against Grayson since September of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Archer Tigers will look to defend their home field against the Grayson Rams at 7:30 p.m. Archer is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
Last Friday, Archer sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 22-19 win over South Gwinnett.
Archer's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from William Wallace, who rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Another player making a difference was Emmanuel Mcrae, who gained 109 total yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Grayson put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Brookwood 57-10 on the road. Given Grayson's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Brookwood is ranked 79th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Jeff Davis, who threw for 190 yards and two touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Dylan Elder was another key contributor, rushing for 62 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.
Archer's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.8 points per game. As for Grayson, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.
Archer took a serious blow against Grayson in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 41-0. Will Archer have more luck at home instead of on the road?
