Montgomery Central hasn't had much luck against Clarksville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Indians will host the Wildcats at 6:45 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
Montgomery Central lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Stewart County, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. The Indians didn't even let the Rebels on the board on Friday, marking the Indians' second-straight 10-0 shutout.
Dylan Fulton made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Montgomery Central is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-13 otherwise. Fulton was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Montgomery Central let Cooper Dixon and Malosi Laban run wild. Dixon went 1-for-3 with three runs and one RBI, while Laban got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Dixon a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Evander Powers, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Clarksville made easy work of Beech on Monday and carried off a 10-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 17 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Porter Murff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jack Wyatt was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Korbin Reynolds, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Clarksville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beech only posted a batting average of .231.
Clarksville pushed their record up to 25-5 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Montgomery Central, their win bumped their record up to 9-14.
Montgomery Central might still be hurting after the 14-2 loss they got from Clarksville in their previous meeting on April 4th. Will the Indians have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
